According to the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment, the Education Council has decided that all students will be able to achieve a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education this year. This certificate will help students access university and further education and employment. Furthermore, all revisions to school assessments are to be made with students’ best interests in mind and to honour the intent of the learning described in the curriculum. To ensure that students applying for university entry interstate are not disadvantaged, the Education Council has decided that the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) results will be released in a nationally consistent window of dates beginning in 2020.
